From September 2025 onwards; if you have missed the registration date for the entrance test in September 2025, there is a Late Test on 31st January 2026.
Please note that the Late Test is to give your child an opportunity to join the Waiting List. Regrettably, they will not be able to be offered a place on National Allocation Day, due to the timescales involved.
Registration for the late test opens at 12 noon on Monday 5th January 2026 and will close at 12 noon on Friday 9th January 2026. Further details regarding the late test are below. If you have any questions regarding the late test please email enquiries@glosgrammars.com.
Please see the document below for the Missed Test Registration Process.
Results for Denmark Road Grammar School will be emailed to parents.
Parents/Carers must submit their secondary school Common Application Form to their Local Authority by 31st October 2025.
Your Local Authority will inform you which school your child has been allocated on this day.
Please note : GCC strongly encourage you to accept the school place you have been offered, even if you go on another school’s waiting list, to ensure your child has a school place in September 2026.
Children who have not met the qualifying standard (i.e. have not passed the test) are unable to join the waiting list.
Appeals process opens.

Deadline for reconsideration.
Following allocation on 2nd March 2026 all parents and carers have the statutory right to appeal for a place at another school, or schools. Appeals are heard by a panel independent of the School and the Local Authority and will balance the School's case against the case brought by parents/carers. Please see below for an Appeal Form and Appeals Information Pack.
Closing date to appeal.
Closing date to provide supporting documents. Parents/carers will be requested to provide evidence to support their child's appeal, such as: most recent reports, KS1 results, mock and predicted KS2 results, CATs scores (if taken).
Information on the appeals process will be shared with all parents or carers of the appellants via an online meeting.
Our appeals tend to run over 3-4 days towards the end of June.
