Technology In The Classroom

Device Per Student

Denmark Road High School aims to prepare students with the academic excellence and skills they will need for their future. Central to this vision is the integration of digital technology in education, ensuring students thrive in a digitally-driven world.

We recognise technology and digital devices' integral and essential role in our everyday lives and workplaces. We firmly believe that if we are to adequately prepare students for today’s world and continue to provide the highest levels of attainment then we need to provide an educational experience that embeds technology at the heart of it.

Our journey is already underway. All students in all year groups are welcome to bring their own device to school. Our preference is that this device is a 2-in-1 touch screen device. Currently the school is unable to provide this provision for all, consequently we ask that if parents are considering buying a device for school use it is of this type. We are able to provide devices for Pupil Premium Students, please contact our Pupil Premium Lead, Dan Edwards on edwardsd@denmarkroad.org for further information.

We are currently researching how we may move to a device-per-student provision for all year groups. A device-per-student provision means that each student will be equipped with a 2-in-1 touch screen device that they will use to access and complete their school work.

Should parents not be able to provide a 2-in-1 touch screen device, students are permitted to use other smart mobile devices such as laptops, iPads (or similar) or mobile phones.

All mobile devices are to be used in accordance with our Mobile Device Policy below.
