Results and Performance

Denmark Road High School has a national reputation for academic excellence, most recently having been named as top in the county with a Progress 8 score of 1.04. Outstanding results are achieved not only through our students gaining the top A* and A grades, but with the progress that every student makes during their time at the High School.  This pursuit of educational success consistently makes Denmark Road High School one of the top state schools in the country.

GCSE Results

  • Progress 8: 1.04. This means that students achieved on average one grade above their target in each subject.  This places the school as top in Gloucestershire and 62nd out of 6951 schools nationally. 
  • Attainment 8: The average Attainment 8 grade is 7.62, which means the average grade is just below 8.
  • EBacc Entry: 76% of students were entered into the English Baccalaureate.

GCSE Results

153 students were awarded GCSEs in Year 11 at Denmark Road High School in 2022. 79.8% of entries were graded 9-7.

  • Attainment 8: The average Attainment 8 grade is 7.60, which means the average grade is just below 8.
  • Attainment in English and Maths: 99.3% of our students achieved a grade 94 pass in both English & Maths GCSEs, with 96.1% achieving a 9-5 pass.
  • EBacc Entry: 71.9% of students were entered into the English Baccalaureate. 98.2% who entered the EEBacc passed with a grade 4 or above and 93.6% of the cohort passed with a grade 5 or above.
  • EBacc APS: The Average Points Score for the English Baccalaureate 7.14.
  • Pupil Destinations: 100% of students stayed in education or are going into employment after Key Stage 4.

A Level Results

128 Students were awarded A Levels in the Summer of 2022 at Denmark Road High School.

44.2% of all grades were A*-A and 72.6% of all grades were A*-B. There was a pass rate of 99.5%.

  • Attainment: The average point score per entry was 42.62.
  • English & Maths Progress: All students in this cohort completed KS4 with a pass at Maths and English GCSE.
