We want our students to have a secure understanding of core biological concepts and to be able to correctly sequence and describe biological processes which are essential to life and relate to all living organisms; to understand the purpose and principles of practical work and have developed their experimental skills and strategies, analytical, evaluative and observational skills as well as their scientific reasoning; to also have well-developed scientific literacy and oracy and have a secure knowledge of  biological vocabulary, terminology and definitions and be able to explain their ideas clearly, both written and verbally, based on scientific evidence.

We want to will inspire and motivate our students to aspire to rewarding and exciting biology-based careers and be part of the drive towards solving our many global challenges; climate change, tackling the reduction of biodiversity, the impact of human and animal disease and the ethics of modern gene technologies.
