To develop knowledge & understanding of key psychological theories, thinkers & research; to understand how psychological knowledge, theories & research can be applied to contemporary society, issues and events in the world.

To develop analytical skills that enable students to interpret evidence, including statistical evidence, in order to produce well-reasoned, lucid, accurate arguments that engenders academic confidence.

To give students a better understanding of what influences and affects key areas of human experience, such as mental health, addiction, social influence, group and personal identity in a way that promotes insight and compassion.

To facilitate an understanding of human experience that is evidence based, underpinned by strong ethical principles and promotes compassion and tolerance in our interactions with others.

Having knowledge of the influences on human behaviour engenders a better understanding of ourselves as individuals and as part of our wider society; greater understanding promotes more tolerance and compassion for yourselves and each other.

To promote a life-long love of psychology, striving for the truth behind behaviour and human experience and being analytical in all areas of life.
