I joined Denmark Road this year but already I feel like I’ve been here forever. On my very first day, I was a little nervous, but I was glad to find that I had basically made my whole friendship group. I tried to be as social as I could and everyone was very kind and friendly and on top of that the teachers and staff were very helpful and made me feel as though I was able to approach them if I had to ask anything or had any questions.
Last year, I participated in House Drama but I thought I wouldn’t get chosen as I’m just a Year 7, which is why I took it as a surprise when I got the lead role. I found it was a good way to socialise and become more confident because you have to act in front of a lot of people. I’ve also found that it’s good to participate in as many activities as possible because it can be fun to try something new and develop your skill set.
I also competed in House Dance and House Netball but I think my favourite was definitely House Drama, I really enjoy acting and I discovered this in primary school when we did our end of year play, it’s just fun to experience how it would be to become a whole new person and show their emotions.
I have really enjoyed my time here in the Denmark Road community and everyone here has really made me feel as though I belong.
