Meet The Team
At Denmark Road Sixth Form we are fortunate to have a team of specialist Sixth Form staff who have years of expertise working with successful Year 12 and 13 students.
Mrs Holly Kowalewski
Assistant Headteacher - Director of Sixth Form
Hello and welcome to Denmark Road. I’m Mrs Kowalewski and I’m delighted that you are considering joining our vibrant Sixth Form. As Director of Sixth Form, I ensure our students are provided with a breadth of opportunities both in the classroom and beyond. To guide our Year 12 and 13 students as they progress through their Sixth Form journey is an enormous privilege. It is tremendously rewarding to see the wonderful outcomes and amazing pathways our students take.
Mrs Vicki Mannion
Assistant Director of Sixth Form
Hello everyone, I’m Mrs Mannion. I’m proud to be able to work with my exceptional tutor team to support our young people through two of the most important, challenging and exciting years of their lives. A really important part of my role is ensuring that students are prepared for the world beyond school and ‘The Edge’ programme does just that by encouraging students to engage in activities and schemes that focus on personal growth, leadership and supra-curricular experiences.
Mrs Lindsay Harvey
Sixth Form Student Support
I'm Mrs Harvey, and I am part of the Sixth Form team. I have been working with young people for over twelve years and love the energy and excitement that they bring to each day.
My role is to work with individual students and the wider Sixth Form community to ensure every student gets the support they need to grow in confidence, to flourish and to succeed at Denmark Road. I work with students for a variety of reasons including academic mentoring and pastoral support. This could include developing positive working habits and skills in planning and organisation. It could be on a personal level, offering that much-needed listening ear. Throughout my years there has been one incontrovertible constant: Any issue, whether big or small, can be overcome by working through it together. I am here to do just that.
Miss Ellie Ryall
SENDCo
Hi, I’m Miss Ryall and I have the privilege of being the SENDCo for the Sixth Form students here. I am committed to securing personalised pathways for each student and ensuring they have the support and opportunities they need to overcome any barriers in achieving their aspirations. I am proud to support students with a range of different needs, from Autism to ADHD to social, emotional and mental health needs.
Sixth Form Tutors
Sixth Form tutors will stay with their groups throughout the whole Sixth Form experience and are a daily touchstone for their tutor groups.
As students progress into Year 13, our tutors form an integral part of the UCAS and apprenticeship application process by supporting the completion of personal statements and writing references. Sixth Form tutors know and understand their tutees and this provides great insight for Universities admissions tutors and potential future employers.
