Having spent nearly seven years at Denmark Road High School I have so many fond memories, particularly as being in the Sixth Form has brought more independence and opportunities. I have especially loved taking part in House events such as House Dance as there is a great team bond across the year groups and a fun, competitive atmosphere plus they offer a chance to go off timetable and show our skills in other areas. I have loved my time at this school and would not change any of it as it has helped shape me into who I am today.

Currently I am studying for five A Levels; Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. As there isn’t enough space on my timetable for everything I have chosen to teach myself the Physics A Level syllabus. Some of my friends think I’m crazy but I love all my subjects and know my teachers and family will support me to help me achieve my goals. I particularly love Further Maths as it challenges my thinking and the Maths department are great. I’m looking forward to starting my next education experience by studying Aerospace Engineering at either Birmingham or Bristol University.

Having balance in life is important to me so alongside my A Levels I make sure I have time to work as a lifeguard as this helps me build skills in a workplace but also earn some money to enjoy myself plus I play piano competitively and enjoy cooking for my family.

A key thing I have learnt at school is that it is really important to talk to as many people as you can, whether they be your peers or adults or younger students. It’s how you build confidence, make connections and make friends.
