Denmark Road High School features in Top 20 List for Girls Cricket

The Cricketer has published its Schools Guide 2021, featuring the top 20 all-girls schools in a 148-page supplement.

The standard of entry into the all-girls schools category was extremely high. Entries to the Guide were judged against an extensive set of criteria, which included a convincing commitment to cricket. The Cricketer gathered entries and compiled the leading lists, working alongside former England star Lydia Greenway to select the best schools for cricket in the UK. Lydia’s Cricket For Girls coaching initiative celebrates the efforts but acknowledges the different challenges that girls’ schools face compared their mixed or single-sex counterparts. Denmark Road High School are delighted to announce that they have been included in the list for 2020, which is an outstanding achievement.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Denmark Road High School has been named in the top 20 schools in the country for girls’ cricket. Cricket has grown in popularity and strength at the school over the past few years. The outstanding highlight for us so far has to be when our U15’s played in the 2019 Lady Taverners National School Indoor Cricket finals at Lord’s. This inspired many other students to try cricket and we hope this legacy will continue.”
