Update- Year 12: Timetabled lessons will be delivered online this Week

Year 12 students are required to stay at home and be taught online during week commencing 2nd November 2020.
Update:
Dear Year 12 and parents of Year 12
Thank you so much for your understanding and support following our communication yesterday to study online from your homes.
Today we have discussed three possible solutions to separating the bubbles of Year 12 and Year 13. At the moment an single confirmed case risks sending the entire sixth form home to self-isolate. We are committed to finding the best solution for continued learning and optimum safety. The options we are exploring require substantial consideration of rooming, timetabling and teaching provision. We need time to thoroughly explore these before making a definitive decision. We would also prefer to confirm our decision when the legislation, and the impact on education, is confirmed for the lockdown starting on Thursday.
We therefore require your further support in attending lessons online from your home for the remainder of this week. Staff will continue to provide lessons to all classes as normal via Google Meet and set work via SatchelONE.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Regards
Claire Giblin

1 November 2020 Communication:
Dear students and parents of Year 12
We trust you have had time to yourselves over the half term break and are feeling refreshed for the next term of learning.
As you are aware we have measures in place at school aimed to reduce the risk of Covid transmission amongst our population. To date these have worked effectively.
The sixth form is at capacity, winter is approaching (meaning more of you indoors) and as you are adults we must consider better ways to enable greater social distancing. Also, in light of the government announcement yesterday, it is prudent to review our plans. We wish to separate out the sixth form bubble into two bubbles, one for Year 12 and one for Year 13.
You will appreciate we need time to consider this, which the senior leadership team will do on 2nd November. Therefore:
Year 12 students are required to stay at home and be taught online on Monday 2nd November 2020.
Year 12 and 13 have been separated since the end of last term. We wish to take advantage of this natural quarantine and re-evaluate our bubble provision.
We therefore require Year 12 to stay at home on Monday whilst we agree plans for the way forward.
Students should attend lessons at the normal times online. Staff will send links to you for their lessons.
Any students in Year 12 who are sitting an exam in the Autumn Exam Series should come to reception 15minutes before the start of their exam.
We apologise for the late notice. I am sure you appreciate we are reacting to the change from government and that in asking Year 12 to learn from home tomorrow we may be certain to move forwards with safety paramount.
Regards
Claire Giblin
