Sixth Form Centre
Our bespoke Sixth Form Centre opened in September 2019 and offers a unique A’ Level study space. Our students access the kind of facilities that they are likely to find at university and we offer them the freedom to make independent choices about how to study. The Sixth Form Centre is safely accessible via a biometric registration system which allows students to use their school ID cards to sign in and out during the school day. Sixth Formers enjoy the supportive and caring environment which allows them to make the most of the opportunities on offer to them and perform to the best of their ability.
Inside the Sixth Form Centre you will have access to:
Student Support
Pastoral Team Offices - The Sixth Form Pastoral staff are based in the Sixth Form Centre. The Director of Post 16 and the Sixth Form Progress and Well-Being team are also based in offices in the centre, making the team accessible to students on a daily basis.
Social Spaces
Sixth Form Cafe – this is open for breakfast, break and lunch and is used by students as a quiet space to work in during the day. A large variety of food is on offer every day including paninis, jacket potatoes, pizza and other snacks and drinks. Students are able to pay using their parentpay account or by debit card. Outside the cafe, the decked area allows students the space to work and enjoy fresh air and a cup of coffee in the spring and summer months.
Learning Spaces
Independent Study Room – which is used for directed study sessions and also as a quiet working space during the day.
IT room – equipped with a suite of computers and a bank of laptops available on loan to support our commitment to digital learning.
Group Study Room - a large space allocated for group work and socialising during break and lunch.
Small Group Study Spaces – three smaller spaces that students can access if they need a smaller working environment.
Careers advice
Careers Office - Careers support and guidance is available to all of our Sixth Form students. We are fortunate to have very experienced careers advisors who run 1:1 sessions from the careers office.
Careers Library - We also have a small room which houses prospectus from all institutions and also other books and information that students may find useful when considering their future pathways.
