Year 12 Assessment Week

The Assessment Week runs from 22nd June 2020 - 26th June 2020

Please read these protocols before the assessment week so that you, and other people in your home, are clear.

Written Assessments

1. All assessments must be done during the timetabled lesson, unless there are exceptional circumstances to prevent this.
2. The time allowed for the assessments is 60 minutes OR 75 minutes for students entitled to 25% extra time
3. You could use your phone as a timer but other than that it cannot be used - i.e. it cannot be used as a calculator or for Google Translate etc.
4. Get all of your equipment ready in advance
5. Share your timetable with the other people in the house so they know when you have the assessments
6. Unless you have been told it is an open book assessment - do not use any books or notes
7. In subjects with more than one class, students will be doing assessments at different times. Do not share any details about the assessment with anyone else.
8. Make sure the assessment is entirely your own work. Otherwise, the process of the teacher marking your work, providing you with individual feedback and working with you to determine your action points and next steps would be pointless for both you and your teacher

Accessing and Submitting

All assessments will be put on Show My Homework 10 minutes before the lesson time (15 minutes before for music listening – so you can check your audio is working)

a) Some assessments require you to create and work in an online document.
If you have to create a document – this will be a Google Doc
- Create and save a Google doc with your name, your teacher's name and the title of the assessment
- Change the settings so anyone at DRHS can edit and click done [this is so that your teacher can access it]
- There will be a link on Show My Homework that will take you to a Google doc with your class list.
- Click on the link. Find your name and copy and paste a link to your assessment Google Doc

b) Some assessments require you to complete a form or quiz
If you have to complete a Google Form or have a multiple choice quiz for your assessment
- The link will be on Show My Homework

c) Some assessments require you to work on lined paper
If you need to work on A4 lined paper, for example in chemistry
- Put your name and teacher’s name on the paper
- At the end, either scan your work or use Office Lens and save it as pdf. Make sure it has your name and your teacher's name
- Send it to your teacher by uploading it on Show My Homework

Practical Assessments in Art and Art Textiles

The time allowed is 5 hours or 6 hours 15 minutes for students entitled to 25% extra time

You should use your two Art/Art Textiles lessons, the 5 Further Reading/Study sessions at 11.30 every day and any free lessons you have (e.g. if you don’t do an option A subject) to complete this. You can also use daily homework time, as no subjects will be setting homework tasks.

Get all of your equipment ready in advance

Share your time plan with the other people in the home so they know when you are working on a practical assessment

Make sure the assessment is entirely your own work. Otherwise, the process of the teacher marking your work, providing you with individual feedback and working with you to determine your action points and next steps would be pointless for both you and your teacher.

The deadline is 4.30pm on Friday 26th June 2020
