In August, Denmark Road High School hosted a 4 day summer club (Monday 23rd - Thursday 26th) for prospective students in Years 4 and 5 from across Gloucester City and Gloucestershire. DRHS were delighted to welcome 48 students everyday to partake in the DRHS Summer Club 2021.
Throughout the four days, a range of activities including: baking, sport, art, dance, drama and enterprise were delivered by teaching staff at Denmark Road High School alongside our partners at Strike a Light and Gloucester Royal Hospital. The final day of the summer club provided an opportunity for students to undertake a CEM test (11+) familiarisation session to help students to prepare for their upcoming entrance assessment.
Government funding for the 4 days was used to provide staffing at a 1:10 teacher: student ratio across the summer club, pay for resources for the activities for students, cover the cost of catering for the students, staff and DRHS student helps, and also to cover administration, planning and promotion costs prior to the event.
Activities Staffing: £2520
Catering Staffing: £540
Aspens Catering: £420
Total cost for 4 days: £4304.07
