What my House means to me
My name is Charlie and I am in year 7. My house is Hartland and it is brilliant!
I always wanted to go to a great senior school where I could have a sense of belonging (and have fun along the way). Well DRHS is most certainly a great school and when I joined Hartland I had a great welcome and it felt like I was part of a new family. One of the things about belonging to a family is loyalty and teamwork, the House competitions are a great opportunity to demonstrate this and we all get involved. House Drama is one of my favourites, as is House Music and of course we have House Sport to look forward to at the end of June.
There are four other houses, so many people think Houses are only there to compete against one another. I guess that is true, there is rivalry and the competitions are all really fun. However, the best part of being in Hartland is the friendship and security you feel.
Your House is there for you and you are there for your House.
I hope you all enjoy your first year at DRHS; I have!
