Denmark Road High School

Discover Realise Honour Shape

What Will It Be Like For Year 10 & Year 12 On-Site?

If you are attending the Key Worker or Vulnerable Student provision please follow this link to the  Mini Denmark Road provision.

Students in Year 10 and Year 12 attending for Academic Review days need to read and follow the following protocols:

You will not need to wear school uniform.

There are no buses running.  Please make your way to site on foot, by bicycle (please make sure to bring a padlock with you) or travel by car with your parents.  Further information on travelling to school can be found  here

You should arrive no earlier than 8.20 and no later then 8.50. Sessions will begin at 9am. You will need to leave the site or arrange collection at 3.30pm.

Those being dropped off by car may pull in to the main entrance (at the front of the main building). We have created a turning circle and drop off point. Your parents will be able to turn right immediately as they enter the gate (towards to sixth form centre), there will be markings and a member of staff there to show you where to drop off. Cars may then leave through the second gate (closest to the gym)

Student Bubbles

Students will be allocated into a ‘Bubble’ of 5-6 students.  You will be with these students when you are not in appointments with your teachers.  Each Bubble will have its own set of toilets to use, its own seating area and its own outside area.  You will need to stay in these groups for the day, we are sorry but you won’t be able to mix between the groups.

On arrival at school students should go to the following areas according to their Bubble:

Bubble 1 – Student entrance from the Quad via the Yellow toilets, then into the Main Hall

Bubble 2 – Student entrance from the Quad via the Yellow toilets, then into the Main Hall

Bubble 3 – Entrance to the Restaurant

Bubble 4 – Entrance to the Restaurant, then into the left side of the conservatory

Bubble 5 – Entrance to the Restaurant, then into the right side of the conservatory

On entering the building students will be asked either to wash or sanitise their hands. They will then sign in.  You must bring your own pen to do this.

Staff will be in the areas to greet you and explain the format of the day and remind you of social distancing measures on site. There will be a member of staff with you and your Bubble all day.

Please use the same work station all day. Please also make sure your laptop is fully charged on the day you attend site.

When moving around the site students must adhere to the one way system detailed  here and maintain 2m from others wherever possible.

You will need to keep track of what time it is so you make your way to your subject teacher in good time for your appointment. Please wait on the seat outside the room until the previous student leaves and the staff member invites you in.

They will ask you to sanitise your hands before you enter the room.

When you see your teacher they will sit 2m from you.

At all times on site you need to follow the guidance on handwashing, sneezing, social distancing and use of own equipment. The Health & Safety guidance is here

If you are collected by car, parents may again use the turning circle but must be mindful of other traffic and be patient of others. You will need to wait in a line behind the teacher at a distance of 2m from others.
