Denmark Road High School

Discover Realise Honour Shape

Welcome to "Mini-Denmark Road" On Site

We have been open for vulnerable children and the children of key-workers throughout the period of school closure

Our provision runs from 8am until 5pm.

Each week a googleform is sent to all parents, please complete this stating the days your daughter will be attending. If you do not currently receive this form please contact office@denmarkroad.org to amend your email details.

The government has defined the vulnerable children and the children of key workers here.

Please read below to find how Mini Denmark Road functions is here. We would be grateful if you and your daughter read this before attending to ensure they bring all they need with them for the day.

Preparing for the school day

I know it goes against how we usually behave, but we need to avoid sharing things on site, so please make sure you bring all the materials you need for the day. Pens, pencils, paper

You also need to bring your own drinks, lunch and snacks as there is no catering on site.

Please wear fresh clothes to school (i.e. ones that have recently been washed).

On arrival

Please make your way to the LRC entrance.

When you arrive, please go to the toilets by the PE office to wash your hands. Remember you need to do so thoroughly for 20 seconds using the routine advised by government. If you are not sure what this is, please ask your teacher.

Then go into the LRC. Please sign in when you arrive and out when you leave at the end of the day.

When you arrive please take your place at one of the desks. You will be based at this desk all day so may leave your things there.

The desks and chairs are spaced so that you are 2 metres apart wherever possible but in a circle so you may still talk with each other.

During the school day

You will be based in the LRC and IT2 during session times and some break times. If there are more than 11 students in we will need to use E3 too.

If you need to move around the area please try to remain at a distance from other staff and students, ideally 2 metres (wherever possible).

Your teachers will take you to the gym or outside for the PE session and at breaks and lunchtimes as required.

Your teachers will indicate when the sessions are and check you know what you are doing. Do ask for help if you are unsure about a task. You may complete work in the LRC at the desks but most likely in IT2.

When you are in IT2 please make sure you sit at alternate computers. You need to use the same computer all day (so don’t leave and then swap machines for the next session).

Staff on duty will also use the same work station.

Your safety

Your teachers need to know where you are at all times, so please ask permission if you need to leave the room you are based in.

Students and staff will all need to wash their hands for 20 seconds between room moves, after break and before and after lunch. If you can’t use soap and water there is sanitiser available.

When Year 10 & Year 12 return to site Mini Denmark Road students and staff will only be able to use the LRC area, so we are practising that now. When the Year 10 and 12 students return to site the only outside areas you may use are the grass outside the LRC and E3 (through the door by the Gym). Until then you may use areas as supervised by staff.

The rooms, desks, computers are cleaned daily. If you think your station is not clean then please say and we will have it cleaned.

Tissues are provided. If you feel a sneeze coming on please use a tissue to catch it and bin it immediately, then go and wash your hands. If you can’t get to a tissue, sneeze into your elbow, then go and wash

When you leave

Please make sure you take all your belongings with you.

Also make sure that you sign out.

When you get home we suggest you wash your hands. Your parents may also want you to change your clothes so they may be washed.
