The importance of student voice is very clear in all aspects of school life. The Head Girl and Head Boy attend Full Governing Body Meetings and do a short presentation to the governors, at each meeting, on an aspect of school life that they are developing. Whilst students in the school can apply to be part of School Parliament and therefore, have an impact on different aspects of school life. For details of the School Parliament please see the relevant area of the website.
Furthermore, students can take part in termly Year Group meetings where form representatives who are elected by their forms can raise issues of concern with their Year Co-ordinator. The minutes from these meetings are shared with the Assistant Head for Years 7-11, the Director of Post 16 and the Headteacher to ensure that all issues are considered, and every voice is heard. Feedback from these meetings is given back to the Year group by the Assistant Head of Years 7-11 or by the Assistant Director of Post 16.
The Headteacher also holds meetings with representatives from forms, for each year group, to find out about life for a student at Denmark Road High School and in the High School Sixth Form.
