Applications are welcomed from students continuing into Sixth Form from Year 11 and from students looking to join in Year 12 from other schools.  

Minimum qualifying academic requirements apply equally to all applicants.

There are clear entry requirements, which each student must satisfy, in order to study at the Denmark Road Sixth form.  These are outlined below. They are designed to help to ensure that students will be able to achieve success in their studies.


Academic entry requirements

These entry requirements are published annually to all applicants.

Students will need to meet all of the following requirements for entry into Denmark Road Sixth Form:

  • A minimum of six subjects at 9-6 grade (or equivalent) at GCSE Level.
  • Students should have a minimum of Grade 5 in both GCSE English or English Literature and Mathematics.
  • In addition, students must achieve the standard required by the individual subjects.  Subject specific requirements are listed on each subject profile on the website in the subject choices booklet.

Application Process 

All applications will be online through our dedicated admissions portal.  From this you will be able to apply, choose your options, arrange informal discussions and track your application progress.   Online applications will open from 6 January 2020.
Immediately after GCSE results in August, students should contact the school to confirm their grades and indicate that they wish to take up a place in the Denmark Road Sixth Form.  Students can enrol personally at the school from 10:00 am.

 Continuing into Sixth Form from Year 11

Our school expects all Year 11 students to continue their excellence of education with us into Sixth Form, places are reserved for all current students who meet the admissions criteria. We will meet with all students to consider their Future Proof pathway with them.

Joining Year 12 from other schools 

Our school welcomes in excess of a third of its cohort from other schools each academic year. Those who join us soon become part of our family. We appreciate that moving schools is a big decision and start to work with you on this transition from the point of discussion around your application. We will meet all students who apply and consider their Future Proof pathway with them.
