School Closure - 2 March 2018

Due to adverse weather conditions the High School will be closed to all staff and students on Friday 2 March.
Following the review of weather reports, the current situation on the school site and travel information we have made an early decision to close tomorrow.
The weather forecast for this evening and overnight into Friday morning predicts spells of heavy snow, strong winds and freezing conditions. There is also likely to be ice build-up due to freezing rain. The Met Office have put in place an Amber Warning. The school site is dangerous in places and the forecast for low temperatures mean that this will continue to be the case, even if we do not get any more snow.
In addition, travel is likely to be problematic for a large number of our staff and students tomorrow due to the predicted treacherous conditions. One bus company has already informed us that their services will not run.
Year 13 Mocks due to take place on Friday have been rescheduled and will now take place next Tuesday, 6th March.
