Sixth Form Open Evening – Thursday 24th January 5-8pm
We have been working hard to further improve our sixth form provision for 2019-20, this has involved a review of our curriculum offer and facilities. We look forward to welcoming all Year 11 students and their parents on this evening to find out about our ‘Future Proof’ pathways, discuss subject choices with our expert teachers and to see the initial plans for the Sixth Form Centre.
Year 11 Mock Week comes to an end
Congratulations to Year 11 who completed their Mock examinations last week. We were all very impressed with how they prepared for the examinations and look forward to celebrating successes as results are published and working with students to fine tune their performance before the final examinations in the summer. Our young people are the next generation of leaders and as such will face pressure in their future lives, whilst mock examinations undoubtedly cause a level of anxiety for students they are a necessary preparation for not only the summer examinations but also for the future. This year the Mock examination period was planned and executed to perfection by Mrs Steele, Assistant Headteacher Curriculum and STEM and Mrs Morris, Examinations Officer. Our thanks go to them for making the process so similar to the summer examination experience.
Mock Results are due to be published w/c 4th February.
Progress Monitoring Reports
Years 7, 8, 9 and 11 received their latest Progress Monitoring Reports last week, Year 10 and 13 are being published this week with Tutor reports. We have changed our guidance to tutors in relation to what to include in their comments, this reflects our enhanced focus on individual progress and wellbeing. Having read a proportion of the Year 13 comments I believe the change is a positive one.
