First day and Security Update
Here is the first email from Mrs Sawicka for this new academic year.
FIRST DAY
The new academic year began with lots of excitement. The students seemed happy to be in school and seeing their friends.
The theme for the assembly on the first day was “Making it happen”. Students were told they can achieve highly if they are prepared to work conscientiously and follow the advice given. The Senior Prefect team shared their 10 Top Tips for success at the High School for Girls. The assembly began with Caitlin Dunnett singing “It is a wonderful life” by Black.
SAFEGUARDING UPDATE – IMPORTANT
All students were issued with a lanyard and ID card today which they will need to wear and use in order to access buildings in school. The lanyards and cards have been given out free of charge. We ask that students notify Reception immediately if they LOSE their card and if they find someone else’s card but do not know who it belongs to, they must hand it in to Reception as that we can return it to the owner.
If a student loses the card then they will have to enter the buildings with friends and if the card is still missing after 3 days, the student will need to pay £2 for a replacement card. At that point the original card will be deactivated. Students need to go to Reception to collect new cards.
NEW PARENTS
You should receive an email each week from the school. In Week 1 it is the Head’s email and in Week 2 the Year Co-ordinator/Director of the Sixth Form email.
If you are not receiving these emails please email office@hsfg.org.
SCHOOL EARLY CLOSURE
Please be aware that school ends at 2.30pm on Thursday, 14th September as we have Prize-giving in Gloucester Cathedral at 7.30pm. All prize winners and their parents/carers have been invited to this celebration of success.
Parents – you need to make sure that your daughter is collected, at the latest, by 5pm from the after school club.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!
